Our VBS this year was a Mega Sports Camp, with an “Undefeated” theme. We met in the evening the week of June 15th, and all who attended had a good time. Kids who finished kindergarten through 6th grade could choose one of three available sports: basketball, soccer, or cheerleading. Then each group worked with their Head Coaches on sports lessons and their Huddle Coaches on the Bible lessons, learning about how they could each be “Undefeated” with God’s help. There was time for a snack each night, lots of fun music and dancing around, and a story by Coach Deb at the end of every evening. The children who had not yet completed kindergarten met with their own special class in the basement Preschool room, and also had a full week of lessons and activities. All of the donations the kids made at the “store” were gathered, and at the end of the week over $130.00 was collected for the week’s chosen charity, Mothers Mission Food Pantry.
A special thanks to the following volunteers: Charlotte, Linda Z., Tanya, Dale Ann, Buddy, Robin, Robert, Traci, Austin, Andrew, JR, Ryan, Alyssa, Marybeth, Linda B., Deb, Kelly, and Connie. Without all of their help, we couldn’t do this every year!
